The institution and the PI shall be responsible for determining, in connection with each recombinant DNA activity, medical surveillance of all personnel with duties in recombinant DNA activity facilities before, during, and after their involvement in the activity, including, as appropriate, a serum collection program, periodic examinations, immunizations, reporting and investigating accidents and illnesses and medical evaluation.
