Except as otherwise provided by the superintendent, the filing and approval requirements applicable to individual and group annuity contracts and certificates used in connection with group annuity contracts shall, to the extent appropriate, be applicable to individual and group separate account annuity contracts and certificates used in connection with group separate account annuity contracts, respectively.
