Sec. 45-6.7. Go-kart track barriers

- If sufficient space is not available between the edge of the go-kart track and other obstacles or hazards, then a barrier shall be provided. The barrier shall be designed and installed to:(a) minimize impact;(b) absorb shock;(c) keep go-karts on the go-kart track;(d) prevent go-karts from running over, under the barrier;(e) tire containment systems, if used without a trackside interface, shall:(1) consist of tires which are securely fastened to each other; and(2) anchored to prevent relocation upon impact;Note:Tires in containment systems shall have rims removed. Tires with rims shall be allowed in the pit area.(f) bridges shall have a barrier system behind the rail system and on either side of approach and egress of bridge, adequate to retain a go-kart on the go-kart track or perimeter surface without allowing the go-kart to rollover.
