Sec. 45-6.7. Go-kart track barriers

Latest version.
  • If sufficient space is not available between the edge of the go-kart track and other obstacles or hazards, then a barrier shall be provided. The barrier shall be designed and installed to:
    (a) minimize impact;
    (b) absorb shock;
    (c) keep go-karts on the go-kart track;
    (d) prevent go-karts from running over, under the barrier;
    (e) tire containment systems, if used without a trackside interface, shall:
    (1) consist of tires which are securely fastened to each other; and
    (2) anchored to prevent relocation upon impact;
    Note:
    Tires in containment systems shall have rims removed. Tires with rims shall be allowed in the pit area.
    (f) bridges shall have a barrier system behind the rail system and on either side of approach and egress of bridge, adequate to retain a go-kart on the go-kart track or perimeter surface without allowing the go-kart to rollover.
