Sec. 45-6.9. Go-karts

- All go-karts shall incorporate within their design the following:(a) a system to restrain the occupants, and roll over protection to, retain the driver and/or passenger in the go-kart in the event of collision or roll over;(b) padding for component parts including but not limited to headrests and steering wheels;(c) clearly marked brake and throttle pedals;(d) fuels systems shall be designed to minimize fuel spills in the event of a rollover and be:(1) located away from exhaust;(2) mounted to minimize the potential for rupture or damage in case of collision, or roll over;(3) not capable of leaking more than one ounce of fuel from the tank during a five minute period when inverted;(e) tires shall be enclosed or guarded where contact with another go-kart could cause injury or a rollover;(f) a braking system that is capable of overriding the full power of the engine; and(g) suitable guards shall be provided on all go-karts as required by section 45-2.18 of this Part.
