Part 590. Operation of Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Programs |
Sec. 590.11. Special treatment procedures

- (a) No comprehensive psychiatric emergency program shall use restraint or seclusion without a written plan for the use of restraint or seclusion, as defined in section 590.4 of this Part, which is in accordance with section 526.4 of this Title.(b) No comprehensive psychiatric emergency program shall use extraordinary risk procedures. Extraordinary risk procedures include, but are not limited to, experimental treatment modalities and aversive conditioning.(c) No comprehensive psychiatric emergency program shall use electroconvulsive therapy.
