Sec. 1206.3. Submitting applications

- (a) To be eligible to receive moneys in support of activities related to the administration and enforcement of fire prevention and building codes, a city, town or village must submit an application therefor, signed by its chief executive officer, not later than the last day of February following the end of the calendar year in which the activities were undertaken. Such application shall be made to the Secretary of State on a form provided for that purpose and shall include:(1) an identification of the local law, ordinance or other regulation under which the local government enforces fire prevention and building codes;(2) an identification of those building and fire prevention codes, if any, other than the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code in effect within the local government;(3) the number of building permits and certificates of occupancy issued by the local government during the subject calendar year.(4) the number of existing structures which were inspected for compliance with the fire safety and housing maintenance provisions during the subject calendar year;(5) the name, address and title of the local official charged with administration and enforcement of fire prevention and building codes; and(6) the names and addresses of persons or firms, if any, which are authorized by applicant to provide, under contract or similar arrangement, inspection services or other support services related to administration and enforcement of fire prevention and building codes within the local government.(b) In instances where a county engages in activities related to administration and enforcement of building codes and fire prevention codes in the place or stead of a local government, application for moneys may be made by such county.
