Sec. 5201.1. Definitions

- (a) PSAP means public safety answering point, a site designated and operated by a governmental entity for the purpose of receiving emergency calls from customers of a wireless telephone service supplier.(b) Board means the New York State 911 Board.(c) Call-taker/dispatcher means any person employed by or in any local or State government agency either full- or part-time whose duties include the answering of emergency telephone calls and/or the dispatching of emergency services personnel.(d) ESDTEP means Emergency Services Dispatch Training/Evaluation Program.(e) Trainer means any individual designated by the authority to train call-takers/dispatchers.(f) Trainee means a call-taker/dispatcher who is currently being trained.(g) Authority means the local governmental authority operating the PSAP.
