Sec. 203.13. Abandoned vehicles

- (a) Any vehicle which is allowed to stand unattended by an operator upon the authority facilities for more than two hours shall be deemed to have been abandoned by the owner thereof, regardless of who abandoned the vehicle, unless the situation has been reported to the authority, as described in section 203.11 of this Part, and satisfactory arrangements have been made for the repair or the removal of the disabled vehicle from the authority facilities.(b) Any vehicle so abandoned is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and the authority may authorize the removal of such abandoned vehicle from the authority system by means of towing by the authority's own employees or agents or by an independent garage or tow-truck operator. The removal of the abandoned vehicle by any means shall be at the expense of the operator and/or owner of the abandoned vehicle.(c) The authority shall have the right to deal with such abandoned vehicles in accordance with section 1224 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
