Sec. 109.1. Attendance at civil proceedings held pursuant to Mental Hygiene Law, or other law, to determine the mental condition of a person

In exercising the inherent discretion possessed by the judge who is presiding in the courtroom to exclude any person or the general public from a civil proceeding held pursuant to the provisions of the Mental Hygiene Law, or other law, to determine the mental condition of a person, the judge shall consider whether the orderly and sound administration of justice, including the nature of the proceedings and the privacy of the parties, requires that persons be excluded from the courtroom. Whenever a judge exercises discretion to exclude any person or the general public from such proceeding, the judge shall make findings prior to ordering exclusion.
