(a) Consistent with the requirements of this Part, the commission shall maintain in its records only such personal information as is relevant and necessary to accomplish the mandates of the commission as authorized by article 3 of the Correction Law, executive order, or any statutory provision.
(b) Personal information shall be collected, whenever practicable, directly from the person to whom the information pertains, and shall be maintained in an accurate, relevant, timely and complete manner.
