Sec. 588.7. Computation and extension of time

(a) In computing any time period prescribed in these rules, the last day of the period shall be included, unless it is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday as defined in section 24 of the General Construction Law, or a day upon which the agency is closed for business due to weather conditions or other emergency, in which event the last day shall be the next day which is not such a day.

(b) Upon written application of a party, and for good cause shown, the agency may extend any time period except those it is not authorized by law to extend.

(c) Whenever a party is required or permitted to perform an act within a prescribed period of time, such as service of a document upon a party, and the act is performed by mail, five days shall be added to the prescribed period.
