Rates for Sale of Power and Energy to Governmental Customers Located in New York City

PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:

Proposed action:

Increase in rates for sale of firm power to governmental customers located in New York City.

Statutory authority:

Public Authorities Law, section 1005(6)

Subject:

Rates for sale of power and energy.

Purpose:

To recover the authority's cost of providing firm power and energy services.

Public hearing(s) will be held at:

10:30 a.m., Nov. 15, 2007 at Power Authority of the State of New York, 501 7th Ave., 9th Fl., New York, NY.

Accessibility:

All public hearings have been scheduled at places reasonably accessible to persons with a mobility impairment.

Interpreter Service:

Interpreter services will be made available to deaf persons, at no charge, upon written request submitted within reasonable time prior to the scheduled public hearing. The written request must be addressed to the agency representative designated in the paragraph below.

Substance of proposed rule:

Pursuant to the New York Public Authorities Law, Section 1005, the Power Authority of the State of New York (the “Authority”) proposes to revise rates for the New York City Governmental Customers (“NYC Governmental Customers”) for Rate Year 2008.

The Authority proposes to increase the “Fixed Costs” component of the production rates charged to the NYC Governmental Customers. This will increase the production rates by 3.4% overall on average compared to 2007.

Written comments on the proposed increase in the Fixed Costs component will be accepted through Monday, November 26, 2007, at the address below. For further information, contact:
