    Tariff Regarding Remote Net Metering of Micro-Hydro Electric Generation for Farm and Non-Residential Customers
    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
    Proposed Action:
    The Commission is considering whether to approve, modify or reject, in whole or in part, a tariff filing by the New York State Electric and Gas Corp for the remote net metering of micro-hydro electric generation for farm and non-residential customers.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, section 66-j
    Subject:
    Tariff regarding remote net metering of micro-hydro electric generation for farm and non-residential customers.
    Purpose:
    To provide for remote net metering of micro-hydroelectric generation for farm and non-residential customers.
    Substance of proposed rule:
    The Commission is considering whether to approve, modify or reject, in whole or in part, a tariff filing by the New York State Electric and Gas Corporation to effectuate amendments to Public Service Law (PSL) Section 66-j resulting from Chapter 318 of the Laws of 2012, which became effective on August 1, 2012. The amendments provide for the remote net metering of micro-hydro electric generation by farm and non-residential customers. The New York State Standard Interconnection Requirements (SIR) document will also be modified. The filing has an effective date of February 1, 2013. The Commission may apply aspects of its decision here to the requirements for tariffs of other utilities.
