    Ratemaking and Cost Allocation by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid
    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following action:
    Action taken:
    The commission, on Nov. 7, 2007, rejected the petition of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid (National Grid) regarding the cost allocation and ratemaking treatment in connection with the termination of purchase power agreement No. 519 with Laidlaw Energy & Environmental, Inc. (Laidlaw).
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, section 66(9)
    Subject:
    Rate treatment in connection with the termination of power purchase agreement No. 519 between National Grid and Laidlaw.
    Purpose:
    To reject National Grid's petition regarding the rate treatment and cost allocation associated with the termination of power purchase agreement No. 519 between National Grid and Laidlaw.
    Substance of final rule:
    The Commission rejected the petition of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid regarding the cost allocation and ratemaking treatment in connection with the termination of Purchase Power Agreement No. 519 with Laidlaw Energy & Environmental, Inc.
