    PUBLIC OR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS; ZOOS, BOTANICAL GARDENS, HERBARIUMS, ARBORETUMS, AQUARIUMS, BIRD SANCTUARIES, NATURAL HABITAT PRESERVES, NATURAL SCIENCE MUSEUMS, AND NATURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CENTERS WHICH OWN, HOUSE AND CARE FOR LIVING OR SYSTEMATICALLY ORGANIZED COLLECTIONS OF BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS AND WHICH PRIMARILY PROVIDE SUCH SERVICES TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON A REGULAR AND PREDICTABLE BASES
    Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums Program
    Applications are available for organizations not currently receiving funding under the Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums program. Eligible institutions may receive an introductory grant of $15,000 per fiscal year until the next application cycle starting April 1, 2013.
    Competitive applications to receive aid are required and must be postmarked no later than March 28, 2011. Funding for local assistance grants is made available through an appropriation from the State's Environmental Protection Fund.

    PRIVATE NON-PROFIT CORPORATIONS; PUBLIC BODIES (UNDER LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES)
    Section 5310 Elderly and Disabled Program
    Grant Applications are now available for the Federal Fiscal Year 2011 Program, and will be accepted through May 4, 2011, for the purchase of accessible vehicles to provide passenger transportation services to elderly individuals and individuals with disabilities under Section 5310 of Chapter 53, Title 49, United States Code. Only private non-profit corporations, or public bodies (under limited circumstances) – public bodies which can certify that no non-profit corporations or associations are available in an area to provide transportation services for elderly individuals and individuals with disabilities or that are approved to coordinate services to these individuals - are eligible to apply. It is estimated a total of $8.2 million will be made available for capital purchases under this competitive grant program. This grant opportunity requires a 20% local share match.
