Video Teleconferencing for Sheriffs
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) to solicit applications from Sheriffs Offices for awards to support the purchase of equipment to enable video teleconferencing between county jail inmates and governmental agencies (courts, probation, etc.) as well as individuals such as defense attorneys and family members.
Subject to State appropriation authority, approximately $1.0 million in funding is available for awards to New York State's sheriffs in counties outside of NYC that have not previously spent or appropriated local funds to purchase equipment for this purpose. Contracts will be awarded for a period of 12 months with starting dates beginning July 1, 2011 or later and end dates no later than February 28, 2013.
Applications received on or before 12 noon (EDT) April 22, 2011 via DCJS' on-line Grants Management System (GMS) will be accepted.
