    Notice of Abandoned Property Received by the State Comptroller

    Final Request for Proposals For the Disposal of the Municipal Solid Waste Stream Generated in the Town of Brookhaven, New York
    Please take notice that the Town of Brookhaven shall make available at the Department of Purchasing, Third Floor, Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville N.Y. 11738, a Final Request for Proposals (RFP) issued pursuant to the provisions of New York State General Municipal Law § 120-w for the Disposal of the Solid Waste Stream Generated by the Town of Brookhaven. Copies of the RFP shall be available to prospective proposers on and after March 21, 2007 for a NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $50.00, payable by cash, check or money order to the Town of Brookhaven. The RFP will also be available in pdf format, without charge, on the Town of Brookhaven website at www.brookhaven.org. Proposers downloading the RFP from the Town's website are requested to register with the Department of Purchasing in order to receive all relevant communications and addenda concerning the RFP. A copy of the RFP will be filed with the Town Clerk, and additional copies will be made available to the general public free of charge, but no assurance can be given that further communications or addenda will be available to a recipient absent registration.
    The Town of Brookhaven is responsible for the disposal of all residential waste collected through the Brookhaven Resource Recovery Improvement, currently totaling approximately 20,000 tons per month. The RFP seeks proposals for both cost and term of a contract for disposal, or transportation and disposal, of all waste received by the Town after August 29, 2009. Proposals may utilize any lawful transportation or disposal methodology, at a site or sites to be proposed, including operation of the Town's Transfer Station located at the Town landfill complex 350 Horseblock Road, Yaphank, N.Y.. Proposals may include new construction of facilities at sites to be determined. The RFP requires a base term of at least five (5) years, but terms of up to twenty-five (25) years, which may include a base term plus one or more an optional extensions may be proposed. Further details are set forth in the RFP. Pursuant to General Municipal Law § 120-w the RFP is on file in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Brookhaven, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, New York, 11738.
    Proposals in response to the RFP will be opened by the Town at 11:00 am on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Department of Purchasing, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, N.Y. 11738. After review of all proposals, the Town will contact the successful proposer(s) for the negotiation and execution of a formal contract.     The County of Chemung, New York is soliciting proposals from administrative service agencies relating to trust service, administration and/or funding of a Deferred Compensation Plan for the employees of Chemung County.     Department of State F-2007-0228 Date of Issuance — April 4, 2007
    The New York State Department of State (DOS) is required by Federal regulations to provide timely public notice for the activities described below, which are subject to the consistency provisions of the Federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, as amended.
    The applicant has certified that the proposed activity complies with and will be conducted in a manner consistent with the approved New York State Coastal Management Program. The applicant's consistency certification and accompanying public information and data are available for inspection at the New York State Department of State offices located at 41 State Street in Albany, New York.
    In F-2007-0228, Brian Cleveland proposes to build a 6-foot wide by 60-foot long dock with a 6-foot wide and 25-foot long extension attached to the left side of the dock at the terminal end. The applicant is also proposing to dredge and blast a 60-foot wide by 35-foot long by 5-feet deep channel adjacent to 110 Rivershore Drive in the Town of Clayton, Jefferson County, New York. All work is proposed within Goose Bay, which is a State-designated Significant Coastal Fish and Wildlife Habitat.
    Any interested parties and/or agencies desiring to express their views concerning the above proposed activity may do so by filing their comments, in writing, no later than 4:30 p.m., 15 days from the date of publication of this notice, or, April 19, 2007.
