    AMENDMENT OF RULE
    Uniform Rules of the Chief Administrator of the Court
    Pursuant to the authority vested in me, and with the advice and consentof the Administrative Board of the Courts, I hereby amend, effectively immediately,section 137.3(d) of the Uniform Rules of the Chief Administrator of the Court,relating to terms of the Board of Governors of the Fee Dispute ResolutionProgram, to read as follows:
    (d) Board members shall serve for terms of three years and shall beeligible for reappointment [for one additional term]. The initial terms ofservice shall be designated by the Chief Judge such that six members serveone-year terms, six members serve two-year terms, and six members serve three-yearterms. A person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring other than expirationof a term of office shall be appointed for the unexpired term of the memberhe or she succeeds.
    AMENDMENT OF RULE
    Uniform Rules for the Surrogate's Court
    Pursuant to the authority vested in me, and with the advice and consentof the Administrative Board of the Courts, I hereby amend, effectively immediately,section 207.4-a of the Uniform Rules for the Surrogate's Court, relating toelectronic filing, to read as follows:
    § 207.4-a Surrogate's Court E-filing Pilot Program Rules
    (a) Application. There is hereby established in designated Surrogate'sCourts a pilot program in which documents may be filed or served electronicallyin Probate or Administration proceedings, miscellaneous proceedings relatedthereto, or such other types of proceedings as the court may permit. Thispilot program shall apply in [the Erie County] Surrogate's Court in Chautauqua,Erie, Monroe, Queens, and Suffolk Counties.

    (e)(1) An eligible proceeding may be commenced by filing the initialdocuments electronically, or may become an e-filed proceeding after commencementupon filing of documents electronically pursuant to these rules. [If theproceeding is commenced electronically, all other parties shall be served] Aparty commencing a proceeding electronically, or the party first filing electronically,shall serve all other parties with a Notice regarding the use of e-filingand the procedure for participating therein in a form approved by the ChiefAdministrator of the Courts, which may be obtained through NYSCEF. Such Noticeshall be served, in person or by regular mail, prior tothe return date of the citation. Proof of service of such Notice shallbe promptly filed with the court.
