    Social Adult Day Services Program
    Applications will be accepted until 5:00PM, July 23 in response to a Request for Applications (RFA) for Social Adult Day Services Programs. Grants are available to operate social adult day services programs for functionally impaired older New Yorkers (i.e., 60 years of age or older). Social adult day services programs are defined as programs that provide a variety of long term care services to a group of individuals possessing functional impairments, whether due to physical or cognitive impairments, in a congregate setting and pursuant to an individualized service plan.
    Funded programs must comply with Section 6654.20 of Title 9 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations and other requirements as established by the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA).
    The following describes key aspects of this funding opportunity:
    (•) $500,000 in funding is available; acceptable funding requests will be no less than $35,000 and no more than $85,000.
    (•) The application process will be structured to promote statewide distribution of funds.
    (•) Funding is available to cover operating expenses of new social adult day programs and existing programs not already receiving funding from NYSOFA under Section 215. However, an entity already receiving funding for a program may apply for funding for a different program at a different location.
    (•) Funds will be awarded through contracts for the period January 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008.
    (•) State reimbursement is available for 75% of allowable expenditures; 25% will be the responsibility of the applicant. The 25% match requirement may be waived based on the demonstrated financial need of a provider in accordance with procedures established by NYSOFA.
    (•) These funds may not be used to supplant existing public or private funding that a program currently receives for social adult day services.

    COUNTY AGRICULTURAL AND FARMLAND PROTECTION BOARDS AND MUNICIPALITIES
    Agricultural and Farmland Protection Program
    Pursuant to Article 25-AAA of the Agriculture and Markets Law, applications will be accepted through September 17, 2007 for financial assistance in the form of matching grants to support the implementation of agricultural and farmland protection plans developed by counties and other municipalities. Eligible applicants include (1) county agricultural and farmland protection boards in counties with an approved county plan developed pursuant to Section 324 of Article 25-AAA of the Agriculture and Markets Law; or (2) any municipality which has in place a local farmland protection plan. Eligible projects must, at a minimum, be consistent with the activities, programs and strategies found in the applicant's agricultural and farmland protection plan. Proposals from municipalities must be endorsed for funding by the agricultural farmland protection board for the county in which the municipality is located. Priority consideration will be given to proposals that preserve viable agricultural lands which are located in areas facing significant development pressure and which serve as a buffer to a significant natural public resource containing important ecosystem or habitat characteristics. Awards shall not exceed 75 percent of the total cost of the proposal. Applicants are required to provide at least a 25 per cent match which may not include other State funds.

    Operation Impact — Tools Program
    Subject to availability of funding, the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit applications from local government agencies for the Operation Impact — Tools Program. Approximately $1,000,000 will be available. The RFP is available on the DCJS website at http://www.criminal justice.state.ny.us/ofpa/newrfp.htm. DCJS will receive applications starting on June 6, 2007 and continue receiving applications based on the availability of funds on a on a monthly basis.

    Pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Federal Fiscal Year 2007 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program regarding New York State's application for such funding, the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (Division) hereby gives notice of the following:
    On May 29, 2007, the Division submitted a funding application requesting New York State's Federal Fiscal Year 2007 award of $16,779,643 appropriated under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. The application generally describes the proposed program activities for the 4-year grant period and the types of programs for which funding will be used.
    This application is required to be made available for a 30-day period for public review and comment. Requests for copies may be made via e-mail to: funding@dcjs.state.ny.us. Requests may also be made in writing or by calling the Division offices during regular business hours. If a paper copy of the application is requested, a payment of $0.25 per page will be due to the Division in accordance with Public Officer Law § 87.
