    FY 2015 UNIFIED HAZARD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE (HMA) PROGRAM
    FUNDS AVAILABLE TO: Create/Update Hazard Mitigation Plans to FEMA Specifications Implement Hazard Mitigation Property Acquisition Projects
    The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) is pleased to announce that funding is available under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) FY 2015 Unified Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Program.
    • These programs are available only to local and state government agencies and authorities and Federally-recognized Tribal governments.
    • Individuals, businesses, or private non-profits (PNPs) are not eligible subapplicants and cannot apply.
    The Unified HMA Programs run annually and are not tied to Presidential disaster declarations. For detailed information on these grant programs, visit our website at www.dhses.ny.gov/oem/mitigation/. We encourage applicants to review program requirements and project eligibility in FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Unified Guidance, also available at the link above.
    To disseminate program information to the widest possible eligible audience, DHSES has placed program information on its website and disseminated it to County Emergency Managers, County Mitigation Coordinators and Planners, as well as regional and metropolitan planning organizations, soil and water conservation districts, and other mitigation stakeholders and partners.
