    Issuance of Long-term Debt of Up to $2 Billion Through March 31, 2012
    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following action:
    Action taken:
    On 5/14/09, the PSC adopted an order approving the petition of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation to issue and sell up to $2 billion of securities in one or more transactions, no later than March 31, 2012.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, section 69
    Subject:
    Issuance of long-term debt of up to $2 billion through March 31, 2012.
    Purpose:
    To approve the issuance of long-term debt of up to $2 billion through March 31, 2012.
    Substance of final rule:
    The Commission, on May 14, 2009, adopted an order approving the petition of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation to issue and sell up to $2 billion of securities in one or more transactions, no later than March 31, 2012, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the order.
