    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
    Proposed action:
    Update service tariffs NS-1, NS-2, NS-3, SL-1 and SL-2, the service tariffs applicable to the Power Authority's neighboring states customers.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Authorities Law, section 1005(13); and L. 1987, ch. 32
    Subject:
    Rates for the sale of power and energy.
    Purpose:
    To update neighboring states service tariffs to streamline them and include additional required information.
    Substance of proposed rule:
    Pursuant to the New York Public Authorities Law, Section 1005(13) and Chapter 32 of the Laws of New York of 1987, the Power Authority of the State of New York (the “Authority”) proposes to amend the Authority's current production service tariffs applicable to its Neighboring States customers. The Authority proposes to reformat the service tariffs for easier reading, group provisions that relate to each other, include any new provisions that might affect these customer groups and add frequently used abbreviations and terms. Written comments on the proposed tariffs will be accepted through Monday, July 21, 2008, at the address below.
