    Purchase of Renewable Energy
    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
    Proposed Action:
    The Commission is considering a proposed tariff filing by the Massena Electric Department to make various changes in rates, charges, rules and regulations contained in its Schedule for Electric Service, PSC No. 2—Electricity.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, section 66(12)
    Subject:
    Purchase of Renewable Energy.
    Purpose:
    To establish a new service class for the purchase of renewable energy from new distributed generators.
    Substance of proposed rule:
    The Commission is considering a tariff filing by the Massena Electric Department (Massena) to establish a new service class for the purchase of renewable energy from new distributed generators. The proposed filing has an effective date of October 1, 2010. The Commission may adopt, reject, or modify, in whole or in part, Massena's proposal.
