    I.D No. PSC-29-10-00011-P
    Water Rates and Charges
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following proposed rule:
    Proposed Action:
The Public Service Commission is considering a filing by Forest Park Water Company, Inc. for approval to increase its escrow account level to $100,000 and to increase the surcharges needed to fund and replenish the account.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, sections 4(1), 5(1)(f), 89-c(1) and (10)
    Subject:
    Water rates and charges.
    Purpose:
To approve Forest Park Water Company, Inc.'s request to increase in the level and surcharges in its emergency escrow account.
    Substance of proposed rule:
On July 2, 2010 Forest Park Water Company, Inc. (Forest Park or the company) filed Escrow Account Statement No. 4 to P.S.C No. 2—Water proposing to increase the account's maximum funding level from $50,000 to $100,000, increase the customer quarterly surcharge used to initially fund the account to the new $100,000 level from $10 to $30, and increase the customer quarterly surcharge used to replenish the account from $10 to $50. The company requests that these changes be allowed to go into effect on October 1, 2010. This will allow the company to fund several large projects it is currently planning to implement and to replenish the escrow account sooner so it will have funds available should other large projects be needed. Forest Park Water Company, Inc. provides metered water service to about 875 customers in 12 separate and non-contiguous water systems in the Towns of Carmel and Southeast, Putnam County and the Town of Lewisboro, Westchester County.
The company's tariff and pending escrow account statement is available on the Commission's Home Page on the World Wide Web (www.dps.state.ny.us) located under Commission Documents - Tariffs. The Commission may approve or reject, in whole or in part, or modify the company's request.
