    Authorizing NYSERDA Flexibility in Making Changes to the Main Tier of the Renewable Portfolio Standard
    PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE State Administrative Procedure Act, NOTICE is hereby given of the following action:
    Action taken:
    On 6/26/14, the PSC adopted an order approving a petition authorizing the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to modify the Main Tier solicitation contract term.
    Statutory authority:
    Public Service Law, sections 4(1), 5(2) and 66(1)
    Subject:
    Authorizing NYSERDA flexibility in making changes to the Main Tier of the Renewable Portfolio Standard.
    Purpose:
    To authorize NYSERDA flexibility in making changes to the Main Tier of the Renewable Portfolio Standard.
    Substance of final rule:
    The Commission, on June 26, 2014, adopted an order approving a petition by Pace Energy and Climate Center, Alliance for Clean Energy New York, Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, Renewable Energy Long Island, New York League of Conservation Voters, New York Public Interest Research Group, Vote Solar Initiative, Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Environmental Advocates of New York, authorizing the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to increase the maximum length of Renewable Portfolio Standard Program Main Tier contracts to a term not to exceed 20 years for select types of technologies and facilities, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the order.
